Franchesca Anchelia is an Office Assistant at International Student and Scholar Services. She provides full assistant support to the office manager, as well as examining correspondence, maintaining schedules and follow-ups for everyone in the office. She works on variety of public outreach material for print and provides public outreach representing the office, provides information to students through face-to-face, in writing, and via telephone/electronic transfer.
Sarah Anderson is an Office Coordinator and Course Scheduler at SCJ. She began her career at FIU in 1995 in the School’s Office of Student Services as a senior secretary.
Richard Castillo is the Financial Analyst for the Department of Journalism + Media. He has over 20 years of experience as a finance professional; including 14 years in the media industry. Richard graduated from Florida International University with a Masters in Business Administration in 2006.
Amy Donaldson performs professional level supervisory and managerial duties in planning, directing, and reviewing the activities and operations within the Student Services Center.
Brian Friedman sees to the IT service needs in the School of Communication and Journalism.
Junior Account Manager
Sarah Hernandez manages and executes marketing initiatives for the School of Communication + Journalism. She earned her BA in Communication Arts and Psychology Minor from FIU and she participated in many involvements on campus, including serving as president of the CommArts honor society, Lambda Pi Eta. Her past experiences in the field of marketing include interning for the CommArts department at FIU as their Marketing and Communications Intern. She is also an active member of FIU’s Young Alumni Council.
Student Services Office Coordinator
Merle Inasi, a Professional administrator with over 17 years in both the Corporate and Educational fields. Prior to joining the College of Communication, Architecture and The Arts, she was the Project Coordinator for a successful pilot program in the US which was funded by a grant to the Chaplin School of Hospitality Management. The program impacted over four hundred lives in the underserved communities of Miami Dade and Broward counties. The three year program resulted in FIU being awarded the 2014 Beacon Award for Excellence in Hospitality Education.
Wayde Klipper has over 40 years in the video industry. He ran his own business servicing broadcast video equipment, and designing and building video systems throughout South Florida. He has been working at FIU since April of 2007 and is the Technology Manager/LMS Administrator.
Rochelle Patten earned a B.B.A. in Human Resource Management from Florida International University, an M.A. in Corporate Communication from Baruch College, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Adult Education/ Human Resource Development. She has been an academic advisor with the School of Communication and Journalism since April 2011. Before coming to FIU she worked in hospitality, travel and tourism, not-for-profit, and recruiting. Rochelle also teaches Public Speaking (SPC 2608) and Strategic Multicultural Communications for the Communications Department.
Joshua Shear serves as the multimedia producer for the School of Communication + Journalism. Before joining FIU in 2004, he worked in video and film production across the U.S., including St. Louis, Atlanta and Los Angeles. Eventually, he moved to Miami where he started his own business, shooting and editing promotional and corporate videos, legal videos, public service announcements, video news releases and short films. His clients have included The Miami Heat, BellSouth, Burger King and Homestead/Miami Speedway. Joshua is currently completing his BAS degree in Film, Television & Digital Production at Miami Dade College.
Rod Stumhofer Graduated from RETS an Electronic Trade School and also from Jackson Community College with an AA degree in Arts and Sciences. He has spent approximately 55 years in the Broadcast/Journalism arena and is now Equipment Manager of the College of Communication, Architecture + the Arts Equipment Room.
Michael Tarno provides help desk support as an outsourced service. He installs new computers and upgrades or repairs existing equipment. He is proficient in multiple programming languages and assists with web maintenance.
