Sue Ellen Monroig created a horizontal book, complete with moving panels, a working sound chip, and a 3-D pop up. It was made by hand and glued together. She exhibited a wonderful command of type and design, an understanding of basic sound engineering, while highlighting her interest in book publishing.
Henry Billete designed a customized full-size life jacket, which included his creative work and his resume within the folds of the jacket. On the outside, he had an engaging message: I'm ready to get my feet (using an image, not the word) wet on one side and whimsical words like "splish, splash" on the other. This demonstrated his creativity, imaginative use of typography, and understanding of ambient media.
Tara Wong developed a horizontal folder that resembled a hard cover book with a textured exterior. Inside, she introduced her work through visual examples. On the inside back cover, she created a three-dimensional cutout of her first name, which besides also serving as her logo, acted as a sleeve for her CD, containing other examples of her creative work. This piece clearly showcased her command of colors, typography, and design. |
