FIU - School of Mass Communication and Journalism

Over the course of the past academic year, the school greatly increased its alumni outreach, including the establishment of a formalized SJMC Alumni Chapter.  Recognized by the FIU Alumni Association, the chapter is making positive strides in reaching its 4,000+ constituents all under the leadership of its newly formed steering committee.  The committee, currently comprised of seven SJMC alumni members from different majors and post-graduate industries, is embarking on an ambitious two-year campaign to reengage the school’s alumni base, including direct outreach to each individual graduate by phone, email, mail and social media outlet; fundraising opportunities for the SJMC scholarship fund; professional development and career services; mentorship programs for students.
